Activities in the Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday organized on August 11 , 2017 in Ban Don Yang camp and Ban Tham Hin Camp

   On the occasion that Her Majesty the Queen’s 85th birthday would be on August 12, 2017, COERR Kanchanaburi and refugees in Ban Don Yang camp and Ban Tham Hin camp joined the ceremony which would take place in each camp.

   On August 11, 2017, COERR and refugees in both camps celebrated the ceremonies organized, i.e. the ceremonies on stage in which the Government and NGOs’ representatives offered their wishes to Her Majesty the Queen; the award presented to outstanding mothers and elderly refugees.

   Then there were ground activities including the friendship sports competition among youth team from different zones; tree planting under the theme “Growing on Mother’s Day, Blooming on Father’s Day”, in which marigold plants were cultivated on August 11 in order to be glooming in October when the Royal Cremation of H.M. the Late King would take place. The candle lighting ceremony was the final event being held in the school yard in which all participated to mark the ceremony.

   COERR always supported the refugee youth groups’ participation in all important ceremonies in their camps to raise their awareness in respecting mothers and seniors in community; to gain teamwork spirit in playing sports, to love nature and environment through tree planting, etc.
